ABOUT DENNIS:
There is a certain style/look when you refer jewelry to be "Santa Fe Style"..It's a style,a size,a look that you will not find everywhere & Dennis 'owns' the name in reference when it comes to the look of the jewelry he makes. There isn't anything that Santa Fe artist Dennis Hogan doesn't make that doesn't have a breathtaking look!! His work is much in demand & is very much sought after here in Santa Fe.
His jewelry has a look like no other & it's not only for his workmanship that makes each one of his pieces stand out,but also the way he gives a "warm" brushed finishing to the metal that just makes you want to drool,it's THAT pretty!!
His continued interest in the American West,while studying in Indiana,he followed his passion for Fine Art & moved to Abiquiu,NM..After having met another Santa Fe favorite "Charlie Favour" there,Dennis learned the lost art of leather work & jewelry & worked as Charlie's apprentice before moving to Santa Fe,where he eventually started his own line of jewelry/leather..He is a 'one man show" & has developed into creating his own identifiable style. THE BRAIDED LEATHER BELT:
This belt is the epitome of quality "Santa Fe/Western Fashion" & it just doesn't get any finer than this! Finely crafted with an upscale quality,one of the 1st things you'll notice when you get this in hand is the 'ultra soft' feeling the leather has!!!
Made of 9 strands of tightly braided soft black Elk leather that dictates it's 1-5/8" width. What is so great about it, is for the fact that it can be adjusted,so whether you want to wear it high on your waist or low on the hips,you can place the hook that's on the sterling concho
anywhere
within it's 40"
'wearable'
length!! Unlike many other concho belts where you feel a little more limited with the size of the belt & especially if you lose or gain weight, what's so great about this one is, if you gain or lose weight, you can just move the hook where ever it fits best!
Where the 1-5/8" braiding begins & where it ends ,there are unique knots that hold it all together.(See photos 6 & 10) & being I don't know anything about knots,I have no idea what this type of knot this is called. The finale ends with 20 Strands of fringy tassels.

THE CONCHO BUCKLE:
Designed in a classic style,this is made of a super heavy gauge sterling & is no way weak & flimsy!!! My guess is it may be at least 8 gauge(?) A 13 mm x 8 mm oval cut of high grade Sleeping Beauty turquoise sits comfortable in it's serrated bezel housing.
Now the great thing about the concho is for the fact, that you can take this off & use the belt with another one of your favorite buckles!!If you look at photos 9 & 12 you'll see the old 1904 silver coin that will open so you can change it out for another,if you like!!
Now how many belts do you own,where they have this much versatility???!!! It can be adjusted to fit your size & you can change out the buckle for another!
This belt will only validate that Dennis is not only a fine jeweler,but a master braider!

**To give you close ups,pictures tend to look much more larger & much more more magnified than in actuality. Close up's make the item look so large & then you get it in hand & you are shocked since the item is much smaller than how they looked in the photos..So to get an accurate idea of how big this is, you can either get an idea by looking at the 2nd & 11th photos where it's on the mannequin or you may want to pull out a tape measure & compare to my given measurements.
